My betta and other fish are dying! I dont know why?
I have one dead betta, three dead ottos. They all swam around like crazy fish, leaping out of the water, gasping at the surface like they are suffocating. then they just sorta stop moving and die.

My tank is planted, heated, filtered and water conditioned. I did water tests that tell me nitrite/nitrates and ammonia are very low, ph is 7.2, the water is halfway between alkaline and acidic.

The fish were ok until i put an indian almond leaf in the tank. would that have caused this or is something else wrong?

any answer is appriciated.
indian almond leaf is suppost to be good for bettas and ottos. it is not a toxic plant. thanks though!

Indian almond leaf is not toxic, it is an age-old betta aid, you’re right, and it’s fantastic for bettas. These leaves drop in their natural environment in Thailand, and Thai breeders use the indian almond leaf to help their fighters heal faster.

I just wanted to get that out there first after reading the horrible answers before me. Now I will consider the rest of your question.

Okay, it does sound like ammonia poisoning. The leaf is NOT THE PROBLEM. The leaf is fine.

When you say the nitrite and ammonia were "low", that doesn’t help. You need to give the exact amount. Many people consider the wrong amount "low" when actually ANY value of ammonia or nitrites is toxic. Anything above 0.25 ppm can have ill effects.

What size is the tank and is it filtered? Particularly for the otos, you need the tank to be well-filtered and ammonia needs to read zero ALL the time. Since you have ammonia in your tank it means you didn’t cycle it. Please read up on "fishless cycling" now that your fish are dead. DON’T BUY MORE FISH UNTIL YOU CYCLE YOUR TANK. It is the main reason why new fish in new tanks fail. It is called "new tank syndrome" and it is easy to remedy, it just takes 1-2 months. It is not hard. All you need is a test kit (which I assume you already have) and a bottle of ammonia. But I can’t explain it all here so just google and research on how to do a "fishless cycle", this is EXTREMELY important for the health of your fish.

The leaves gives off ammonium ion (ionized ammonia) which can kill fish as well as bacteria. There is a limit of how much you can use and you probably used too much. Fish have trouble adapting to any change and they weren’t use to the adjustment.

not overly sure about the dying fish, if theres not enough oxygen they will stay close to the top of the water but not swim like crazy fish.i had a filter in a small 20 lt tank which the guppies kept to the top so i moved therm back to the 80 lt with a larger filter system and air stone they seem to be heaps better.
As for the new tankthing i got rong advice from a pet shop setting mine up ad added fish ammonia was high but kept up water change and added amrite down to help cycle a neew tank faster and to detoxafy the amonia we got thew the 4 weeks with only 3 losses.

Lord of the Rings (Two Towers): Forbidden Pool -question about this scene!?
In the movie, Lord of the Rings:Two Towers, there is a scene of Smeagol/Gollum in the forbidden pool and is almost killed until Frodo negotiates to be the one to get him out.Unexpectedly, Smeagol/Gollum gets jumped and I know at this point he feels a sense of betrayal from Frodo.

As for my question, I’m not a big LOTR fan… but I had to watch it for school and Have been asked to do an assignment about Gollum/Smeagol’s personality and how an event can bring out the different personalities for him. Unfortunately, I missed one day at school when we were watching it and I missed a good 80 minutes of it I really do not have the time to watch the full movie again.
I wanted to incorporate this scene into my essay because I know afterwards, Smeagol feels betrayed by Frodo and Gollum comes to surface. That is like that only thing i can remember about this scene!

Can anyone give me a bit more detail? Like where did Faramir come from? Why were there so many people there? and most importantly, what led up to this event and what happens afterwards? Any help would be greatly appreciated and it would save me a LOT of time

I’d suggest reading that bit of the book. the pool was sacred to Faramir people, forbidden to strangers. Frodo asked golom to trust him and faramirs men captured him breifly with frodos help. the last time golom was captured it was by the orcs and he was tortured for months, so you can see why he dosn’t like being held against his will.

Faramir is the captain of the army or gaurdians of Kingdom of Gondor. The forbidden pool is not really ‘forbidden,’ Faramir just wanted Frodo Baggins to admit that Gollum/Smeagol is his companion (When Fordo and Samwise Gamgee was captured by Faramir and company, Faramir interrogated Frodo and when Faramir asked about Gollum the "gangrel creature with an ill-fated look,’ Frodo said they have no other companion.) Faramir and company are guarding Gondor from the imminent attack of their enemies.

When Gollum was captured, he squealed about the Ring of Power, and Faramir saw an opportunity to impress his father, Denothor, the Steward of Gondor by presenting him the Ring of Power and used it as their ultimate weapon. But of course Faramir has never succumb to the temptation of the Ring and so forth and so on.

Couldn’t you just rent out the movie and then select the scene that you want to watch? Anyway, when Faramir is questioning Gollum, Gollum says "They stole it from us!" Faramir then says "What did they steal?", to which Gollum replies "My precious! AAAHHHH!"

As for Faramir, he is Boromir’s brother (who was a member of the Fellowship Of The Ring). Boromir was killed by an orc in the first movie, while trying to defend Merry and Pippin. Only moments before this, he had attempted to take the ring from Frodo and take it to his father Lord Denathor, in Gondor (where he and Faramir grew up). Faramir is the Captain of Gondor, and has always been his father’s least favourite son. Denathor is the Steward of Gondor, and he wants Faramir to give him the Ring in hope of using it as a weapon against the enemy. However this isn’t possible, because the Ring itself kind of has a mind of its own, and it’s loyal only to Sauron, who made the ring in the first place. Although Faramir knows that it’s wrong to try to use the ring against Sauron, he is tempted to take the ring to Gondor because he wants to win his father’s approval. He eventually decides to let Frodo, Sam and Gollum go, because he realises what the consequences will be if the Ring goes to Gondor. All the other people there were also from Gondor, and were simply helping Faramir get rid any enemies in the surrounding area.

At the end of the movie, as Gollum is leading Frodo and Sam to Mordor, he secretly comes up with a plan to kill the hobbits and take the ring for himself.

idk if you were ur hair in pony tails alot but that can cause balding. Redken makes a product called thickening lotion and that gives the appearance of thicker hair. Nioxin is a great product but you can’t expect results over night, they make this stuff called follicle booster and that helps new hairs grow.

Keep your daily schedule full of activities you enjoy with people who like you, family and people who always enjoy your company. Do not spend any time thinking about anyone who would be unhappy and dissatisfied because she was with you and all the time, wanting to be with someone else. Remind yourself how miserable that could make you. Do not dwell on the good things she tried to do for you because the bottom line is she prefers to stay in a relationship with someone else. You do not have to forget her, therefore, to get over her. Time, distance and keeping yourself occupied with fun things to do with people who edify you will give her less importance in your thinking and in the long run, you will be better off without her. That is tough.

Just occupy yourself. The more you think about her, the more you miss her. Occupy yourself, whether you’re a gamer or a studier, play your Halo, your Melee or your Soul Caliber or do some Quadratics, crap like that, as long as it will keep you thinking about things other than her. These are just examples, I’m not telling you to pick up a game, whatever get’s your brain going.

If you really do have no friends to talk with then in a way that’s a good thing. This may seem rude and unachievable but avoid her. You don’t want to remember and see for yourself how pretty she is and her cute laugh and what not.

If you have a lack of hobbies then there is always the possibility of a new girl, although that may be difficult.

Back on topic, you will never stop "loving" her until you realize she is something you don’t need. You forget about things you don’t need, therefor forgetting her merely proves you don’t need her. Occupy and avoid, is the best solution in my opinion.

I know you can do it, we all have to find this inner will somewhere. Go for it!

Okay I dreamed that me my friend (Candy) and a close acquaintance of mine (Morgan) were making a huge tray of onion rings & Morgan went to turn them around in the oven & the oven exploded into a huge fire Candy got away but in my dream morgan got down in the fetal position in front of me & I felt like I couldn’t move but I was standing and knew the flames were spilling onto my arms then it skipped to me laying on the floor & I saw Morgan on the ambulance bed with paramedics rolling her out, I wasn’t burned but I could tell that the skin on Morgans arms & legs were gone.
